Got these for my Shih Tzu to protect his paws on the hot pavement. The pros are: easy to put on, they add a small layer of protection for the paw pad, they are inexpensive, and he actually wears them without fussing. The cons: they wear out very quickly as you can see in the photos, they are not water resistant- they get soaked and fall off when he walks in puddles, and they fall off a lot. He had this pair for two months are they are destroyed. Holes through the entire foot bed. For me the trade off is ok for now as he needs his paws protected due to the heat and he’ll actually wear them. I just ordered our second pair to get through the summer. If they were priced any higher I would have looked at other options but these will work for now.Last June we vacationed in Petrified Forest National Park in our camper van with our wee Pomeranian, Gretel. We brought a comfortable backpack for her, but we also knew she would enjoy walking with us some of the time; we had to find something to protect her paws from the hot pavement. I purchased two different types of shoes. The first set had solid rubber soles. They would probably have worked better than these, but Gretel was dropped at the vet's office when she was a puppy leaving her with a permanent hip problem; the learning curve was too steep for her. These soft soled shoes protected her feet somewhat and were certainly better than nothing at all. I tried two sizes: Size 5 was slightly small. Size 6 was slightly large. We went with the size 6, but the fact that it was slightly large caused the shoe to drag slightly. The fabric eventually wore out where it contacted the pavement. I believe they would work well inside the house on tile or hardwood floors to keep her from slipping.I really wanted to love these shoes as they are very well priced and pretty cute! They are functional for what they are to be used for, they do really help with the hot pavement and after some practice my dog can kind of walk in them. I have a 6 pound Yorky who is extremely high maintenance and constantly has allergies. I got the shoes to help protect her feet from the hot SoCal pavement and also to see if it would help her with her constantly licking the feet during the summer caused by the Allergies. I like the construction of the shoe, the base does seem to have a cushion and heating system padding; I haven’t tried it in the rain because unfortunately in Southern California rain is nonexistent. However they are so incredibly difficult to put on. My dog hates putting them on at this point so do I! ( as you can see from the photo ) It take me about 10 minutes to get all four of them on and I have to adjust them multiple times when we’re on the Walk. Her feet are so small that it is extremely difficult to actually get them all the way down to the padding area and she also throws is a tantrum every time I try to put them on. Obviously :-) I spoiled her too much, but the truth is they are extremely difficult to get on her feet which is not what I’m looking for whatever I’m trying to throw them on for a quick for a walk around the neighborhood. I do like them and will be keeping them because they do function on her feet and she has learned to walk in the well but I will also be looking for another version that has velcrow straps that I think it’s gonna be a lot easier.I am a preschool teacher and know that the easiest kids shoes have Velcro so I’m hoping that translates to spoiled doggo shoes too!My small dog wore these at the beach, helped with sun heat and cockabursIt was great but my doggo knew how to kick them off. It does the job of protecting the feet and it is water proof! The boots are fine; they are easy to put on, seem comfortable. But, and this really only applies to those with dogs that chew on everything, your dog will chew on the pull string and cord lock. And in my case, my dog destroyed the cord lock in a matter of seconds. You may want to consider boots with a zipper. Other than that, the boots are really nice and it’s a shame they didn’t meet my needs.I purchased these after the socks I bought to give my senior dog added traction on hardwood and linoleum didn’t work out. These are only slightly better. They do fit more snugly, so Fionn doesn’t keep losing them. But, they don’t stay in position. They turn downside up within about two hours, leaving him with less traction than his bare paws. I need to know he won’t slip and get stuck in one place while I’m at work. Unfortunately, this has not been the case. If you’re looking to purchase these in order to provide your dog better traction indoors, then I’d give them a hard pass.Easy to get on, but you have to pull the elastic quite tight to keep them on and it’s uncomfortable for a puppy. Bad design as well, toggle should be at the back so the dog can’t try eat it.These didn't last for even 3 minutes. One kick and they flew off. Would not recommend. These are really cute & do the job for a quick trip outside for business. They aren’t really warm or waterproof in any way but do provide a small amount of protection for your pets paw pads on those super cold, snowy days.I do wish the toggles were placed either on the back or sides of the boots though as once you get them “snugged up”, there is a ton of cord that flops around & seems annoying to my dog.Otherwise a decent product
