Pretty solid. I used on my strong German Shepherd and he pulled hard enough to stretch a link and it came undone. I just pinched it back tighter with a pliers and works good now.You get what you pay for and for the price it is an ok quality. Maybe I bought the wrong size for my dog or used it incorrectly, but I decided not to use it again after the first try. Our dog is a redbone coon hound, boxer and Pitt mix. He is the sweetest dog I have ever owned. He is a momma’s boy and just wants to be loved. But he is too strongfor me to take on walks and he barks and growls at strangers. A dog trainer recommended a prong collar after our dog scared a kid by chasing him out of our yard. We were concerned by his behavior and we know that Pitts have a bad reputation. We want others to see the sweet dog he really is so we were willing to do some retraining using the prong collar. This one had good reviews so I decided to go the inexpensive route and try this one. We took a short walk and he pulled so hard that for a week afterwards he would make gagging noises. I still feel bad about it. Towards the end of the walk he wasn’t pulling as much, but I felt like it was too much pressure on him. I won’t buy another one until we have a professional dog trainer fit him for one and teach us to use it correctly. The Herm Springer keeper collar will likely be the next one that we try.At first this collar worked well until my 85lb lab slipped out of it. I adjusted the size, no easy feat but we finally managed it between the two of us. Then she broke it. Thinking this was a fluke, I repaired it with the included additional links. She broke it twice more and slipped out of it again. I decreased it by one link, and it was tight but at least she couldn’t slip out. Then today she broke it again and attacked a small dog. Thankfully she didn’t bite it so hopefully they won’t sue but I’m done. Clearly she’s too strong for this collar. She slips out of it unless it’s ridiculously tight and breaks the links regardless. It’s adjustable and May work for reasonable well behaved dogs who don’t pull at it too much.The price for the collar plus a leash was so much cheaper than in the local store I had to try it. I was pleasantly surprised when the items arrived and I saw how nice and neat they were packaged. I still use the bags to store the collar and leash in my car. I was very happy when I didn't have to fight my Rottweiler to get the collar on and off. She's a big girl with a big giganto head. (Don't tell her I said that) She doesn't like it when anything is pulled over her head. The look on her face when I buckled it on and off without going over her head was priceless! Now with this collar in our lives we're both happy. I don't get my arm yanked out of the socket and Daenerys doesn't freak out because the collar isn't being pulled over her giganto head ?. It's the perfect win-win and I got a new traveling leash plus extra links and rubber tips also. Great deal!I got this for my small dog, and i had to make it so small to where it isnt even effective. My dog is 8lb pomchi and needs some extra help, the smallest size doesn't fit well, even after taking off all but 1 of the prongs. And the clip is hard to get on and off. But the leash is quite nice.My dog broke itAfter I watched a few online videos, and followed the common sense instructions,,,, My young Shephard wasnt pulling and jerking,,,,,She was walking along side of me and seemed much calmer and happier,,,, We are now enjoying our walks,,,,,Great Product if used correctly,,,,,:)Purchased this in 2018 but didnt start using it till rently. I used this for maybe the last 7 months for my 50lb standard poodle. He pulls but not horrible and i wss hoping this would help correct it. my husband said it was a bad design right away because of the fabric on metal and sure enough today mid walk the collar fell to the ground because the metal has worn the fabric away. I should have checked it 1st but honestly didnt think to. You can see in the pic that both ends were stressed where the fabric attached to the collar. Wouls not recoment for strong dogs as this would probably snap right offAmazing!!! Tried every collar and harness to be able to walk dog. Walking him is effortless now. Leash is also amazing.
