Three years ago I bought a large OneTigris saddle backpack for my lab mix to help him focus on walking in the mornings. It was perfect! The two buckles underneath are great and the front buckle is ideal. No dog is going to be very comfortable with slipping their head through a little hole to get their pack on, yet somehow this was a pretty unique feature to find one with a front buckle. Anyway, fast-forward 3 years and I got a golden doodle puppy that needs major calming and focus on walks so I bought her the same pack, just one size down, a medium. Well, lo and behold they changed the design and the front no longer has that all important buckle. Aggravating! She is very intimidated by me having to bring the saddle bag over her head. I'm likely going to return it and try another one I found with the front buckle because the last thing I want is for her to fear the pack or walks because of the pack. Poor choice, OneTigris in making your dog backpack LESS dog friendly than they were.One update I did like was that they eliminated the metal D ring on the outside velcro pockets. Those are annoying on the old pack when we run and they flop around loudly. So one good change, one very bad change. Overall I would no longer recommend this product as it will be much more difficult to get your dog comfortable with the pack due to how it has to be put on now. I work with my dogs a lot and am good at training and overcoming fears and all sorts of things but for the average person who isn't really into that this pack would be very unpleasant to work with anymore. Better to find one with a front clip and not have to do a bunch of extra work on this issue.
